John Sobal, 88 of Mesa, AZ passed away Sunday January 22, 2012 in Mesa, AZ. Mr. Sobal, a retired aircraft planner, was born in West Hazelton, PA on March 2, 1923. John was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army as a crew chief on the C-47 in Central Europe. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wilma, his parents, two sisters, and one brother. Survivors include his daughter Melinda J. Sobal, son John P. Sobal, granddaughter Jennifer A. Sobal-Whipple and great-granddaughter Gracie K. Sobal-Whipple. The visitation will be from 1-3:00 pm Friday January 27, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ followed by graveside services at 3:00 pm.
