John W. McDonald Jr., 63 of Mesa, AZ died July 15, 2012 surrounded by his family. Mr. McDonald was born September 4, 1948 in Danbury, CT to John McDonald and Barbara Hinckley. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School. He worked in the family bakery for a while but was a machinist the majority of his career. He was a loved and respected member of the Sun Life Resort Community. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing pool. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McDonald, son Charles Iannacone, and grandson John “Jack” McDonald IV. He is survived by son Bruce Iannacone and wife Marcia of Danbury, CT, daughter Lisa Durgy and husband Ron of Mesa, AZ, daughter Susan Schumacher and husband Mike of Mesa, AZ, son John McDonald and wife Shawna of Soldotna, AK, son Richard McDonald and wife Holly, sisters Barbara, Betty, Lucy and Mary, brother Joe, brother-in-law Larry McElwee and wife Claudia, several nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. John will be greatly missed by his friends and community. His gentle heart and kind nature made everyone feel like one of the family. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ at 10:00 am Saturday July 21, 2012 (480-832-2850).

    John will be missed but will remain in our hearts. He baked me my 60th birthday cake this past December and it was fabulous. Our hearts are heavy for all of his family. Celebrate his life and he will be with you in spirit every single day of your lives.
