Joseph Allan McPhee, 76, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 24th, 2022.  Heaven gained a wonderful soul this day.  Joe was born on June 5, 1945 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia the son of Charles and Alice McPhee.  He was one of ten children.  After graduation, Joe moved to Massachusetts where he joined the United States Air Force.  He served this country proudly for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant in February, 1986.  His military service allowed him to travel the world as he served in posts such as Turkey and the Philippines and many other places as a medical technician caring for wounded soldiers. In 2001, Joe met the love of his life, Denise Martin.  They quickly became inseparable and they were married in October of 2005.  Joe and Denise operated a business at the Mesa Marketplace for 20 years with a loyal following and friends who would visit from Canada each year.  There was not a kinder soul than Joe.  He loved his family so deeply.  He was forever heartbroken when he lost his son Brad in January of 2014.  We will miss Joe’s love, his amazing grilling skills, and his smile and humor.  Joe was such a pet lover and spent hours playing ball with his beloved dogs and grand dogs.  Joe is survived by his wife Denise, daughter Cheri McPhee (Kelly), step daughter Stephanie Martin (Carmen), step son Richard Martin (Lexie, Dylan, Addison, Elliot), and grandson Sean Neel (Nina, Simon).   Services will be held privately in Canada at a later date.
