Judith Lynn Beatie, 85, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1941 in Fresno, California to her parents, Henry and Melva Kaufman.
Judy graduated from Fresno High School and was the Valedictorian of her high school. She earned a scholarship to the University of California Berkeley where she earned her degree. Throughout her life she worked as a teacher, vice principal and special education administrator. She held three master’s degrees in education. She married William Beatie in a beautiful Hawaiian ceremony on tax day, April 15, 1992. Judy was active in their church bible study, and loved to play golf and cards with friends.
Judy is survived by her husband William Beatie, daughter Lynn Fromm and son in law Gary Fromm and daughter Mary Ruedemann and son in law David Ruedemann as well as her sons Don Wells and Doug Wells and daughter in law Shannon Wells. Her grandchildren are Phillip Fromm and granddaughter in law Taryn Fromm, Carson Ruedemann, Luke Ruedemann, Andrew Wells, Mikaela Wells, Russell Wells, Garrett Wells, and Miles Henze. Her step daughters are Nicole Todd and Natalie Henze. She also leaves behind a beloved cat named Sir Charles.
A chapel service will be held on Friday, September 18 at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Az. There will also be a graveside ceremony at 11am, followed by a luncheon at her daughter Mary Ruedemann’s home.
