Kathryn (Kathy) Ann Scott, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on October 29, 2020, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s at Holy Cross Hospice. She was born August 27, 1948, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Kathy was the stepdaughter of Marvin L. Neiman and daughter of Norma J. Neiman.
Kathy was always a loyal friend and a dedicated mother and grandmother prior to her illness. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them, guiding them with love, patience and empathy. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vivacious personality, beauty that caught people’s eyes and a calming energy that drew people to her, making many friends during her lifetime.
“My mom was the strongest person I ever met. She was tiny in size, but her personality, love and role as a mother was fierce. She left a small town and her loved ones/friends in Nebraska to move to the big city where she taught herself how to drive, dominated the male driven business world of management in the 80’s and 90’s, and provided a loving home to my brother and I. My mom is my best friend in life and after death.”
She is survived by her brother Kenneth Bell; her children, Cory and Alisa Scott; her grandchildren, Breyana and Anisa; and her great grandson, Liam; and many friends and distant family members. All of whom she loved and cared for deeply.
Our Beloved Mom and Nana
