Larry Jeff Wantland, age 82, passed away April 28, 2021.  Larry, a native of Arizona spent the majority of his life in Globe, AZ where he graduated from Globe High School and later attended both Palo Verde College and Arizona State University.  He spent his career working in both the accounting and purchasing departments at Freeport McMoRan Copper Mine.

He dedicated his life to his wife, Toni of 60 years and his 3 children.  Larry enjoyed playing sports and in his younger years he played football, basketball and baseball for the Globe Tigers and football at Palo Verde College.  In his later years he coached his son’s baseball team and enjoyed playing golf.  He liked to attend Sun Devil and Cardinal football games.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding ATVs with his friends.  He enjoyed spending time in Pinetop and vacationing with his family in San Diego.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Loreen and older brother Leo.  He is survived by his wife Toni, his two sons Kenny and Joseph, daughter Lori and son-in-law Mike.  He has two grandchildren, Nicholas, Monique, and her husband Thomas; along with his two siblings Loren Jr. and Lorraine.

The service and reception will be held on May 11th at 11:00 am at the 1916 Historic Globe Train Depot Complex, 230 S. Broad St, Globe, AZ.  Burial will occur at a later date at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St, Mesa.
