Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Lillie Arlene Vickers

May 29, 1936 – December 22, 2023

On Friday December 22, 2023 Lillie Arlene Vickers passed away in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 87. Arlene was born May 29, 1936 to parents, Robert and Margaret Fleming. She was the middle child of three daughters. Arlene was born and raised in Tribune, a small town in western Kansas.

Shortly after completing high school, Arlene met Clifford ‘Vic’ Vickers. After a six-week courtship, they married in December 1955 and soon had six children, three boys and three girls, all single births in less than eight years. (Oh, dear!)

Arlene was beautiful (yet humble) and hardworking, always ready to do more than her share of the work. Arlene loved her family, her home of 55 years, and her wood burning stove. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, true crime stories, cross-stitch, road trips, Keno machines and lottery scratchers.

Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Vic; her parents; her granddaughter, Tina; her sister, Melba; and a bonus grandson, Marcus.

Survivors include her children: Teresa (Dean) Robinson, Gena (Chris) Swihart, Arthur Allen (Donna) Vickers, Lori Rodda, Jeff (Kelly) Vickers, Mikel Todd (Sabine) Vickers; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mary ‘Sis’ McBride; and several childhood and long-time friends.

Arlene/mom/grandma/sister…..you will be painfully missed, but never forgotten
