Lois Helga-Mae Sevigny left this world in the hands of Angels on May 26, 2011 at the Copper Cottage Hospice Care Center in Mesa, Arizona after a courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born in Svold, North Dakota on a beautiful spring day in May of 1931 to Kristjan and Gudrun (Johnson) Bjornson and grew up in both the Cavalier and Mountain Communities. She met and married Gerald Sevigny in September of 1952 and followed him from military base to military base across the world until he retired from the military in 1973.    After retirement from the military they made their home briefly in the Grafton area until they moved to Olympia, Washington in 1978 where she managed the Jack-Pot Service Station and the West Olympia Seven Eleven.  In 1992 Lois and Gerald made their way to the Mesa Arizona area where they have lived since. Lois was an inspiration to all who knew her. She enjoyed life and her smile was infectious and could light up a room, no one can ever forget her laugh – she did everything with passion.  She had a big heart and was a friend to all whom she would meet. Her family meant everything to her especially her grandchildren and granddaughter and she spent many a summer in the Olympia area dotting over them.  She is survived by her husband Gerald of Apache Junction, her children Dean (April) of Port Orchard, Washington, her daughter Mary and Son, Roger Sevigny of Mesa, Arizona and daughter, Denise (Scott) Woinarowicz of Olympia, Washington. A brother Fred (Marilyn) of Tuscon, Arizona, a brother Richard (Janyce) of Bismarck, North Dakota and Roger (Margaret) of Gold Bar Washington, a brother-in-law Jack Rustan of Dickinson North Dakota, Five Grandchildren Scott of Mesa, Arizona, Kayla (Ryan Sutherland) of Olympia, Washington., Kris of Olympia, Washington., Marc of San Diego, Ca., and John Paul of Port Orchard, Washington., as well as one Great Granddaughter, Maddie (Snootsie) of Olympia, Washington, several sister-laws and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Kristjan and Gudrun, her brother Boyd, her sister Judy and her beloved daughter Catherine whom she thought the world of. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday the 31st of May at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery with burial in the Veterans National Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.  In lieu of flowers the family prefers that a donation to the Mountain Community Center Capitol Campaign, P.O Box 165 Mountain North Dakota 58262 be given in her name. How do we say goodbye to a piece of our heart? We don’t ever have to. There will always be a way to keep the things we hold most dear.  She leaves behind a golden legacy of Honesty, Integrity and Love, as well as a myriad of memories for all to share in.  I Love You Honey, We Love You Mom!

Going to August the Deuce in Mountain and visiting at the Bjornson home will definitely not be the same without my dear cousin Lois. I have so many wonderful stories of this beautiful lady from when I was a little girl and she, my Mom’s dear friend/cousin, who visited us alot in Fargo, ND. My heartfelt sympathies to you Gerald, the kids/families, Lois’ siblings/families, and her many, many relatives and friends. God be with you at this time and in future days as we grieve our earthly loss.
    Cousin Rae Dierks
