Loraine Margaret Juvelin, 92, passed away Sunday, September 16th in Mesa, AZ. Mrs. Juvelin was born in Hancock, MI.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Juvelin and her daughter Carole Larsen-Harper.  She is survived by her daughter Shan Hays, sister Nancy Enoksen, brother Giles Kendall, grandchildren Joey, Alice, David, Eric and Alix, great grandchildren Katy, Taylor, Zoe, Aiden, Lorisa, Lillian, and Ellison.  It is impossible to describe in a few lines, what impact Loraine had in her long and full life.  Undoubtedly, each person who knew her will treasure in their hearts the way Loraine’s life touched them.  Loraine was a champion of women’s rights, the first woman editor at the Color Country Spectrum, a Family Historian, and a political activist with savvy awareness.  As she worked and wrote, the M. Mead quote, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has,” was prominently displayed above her desk.  Loraine was in that group.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and our lives are better for having known her.  Visitation is scheduled for 9:00 am Saturday, September 22 followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa AZ  85207.
