Lorraine Lillian Cooper, 81, of Sun Lakes, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 30, 2013, with her husband Don by her side. She was born to the late Clarence and LaVern Gengler on August 22, 1931 in Gardena, California and was their only child. She excelled in her academic studies and graduated the University of California Los Angeles earning a Certificate of Honors with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in June 1957. After graduation, Lorraine began her career with Kaiser Steel Corporation as a secretary in the Los Angeles Sales Office. After 28 years, she retired from Kaiser as their Salaried Benefits Manager. After leaving Kaiser, she became a contractor for the Federal Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation operating from her office in Rancho Cucamonga, California for 7 years. In 1972 she met and married John D. Cooper, the love of her life, who has survived her. A private service will be held. Donations in her memory can be made to the Diabetes Association of Southern California, in which she devoted time in past years. Their address is 611 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 900, Los Angeles, CA 90017.
