CHANDLER – Lucia (Morales) Sandoval, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great, and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family January 6, 2018. She was born January 20, 1925 in Nogales, Sonora, into a family of 6, grew up in Santana and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, and married Raul Sandoval in April, 1941. She raised 7 children, living in Nogales, Tempe, McNary, Ray and Kearny, Arizona.

Lucia was a devout Catholic, who prayed daily and attended mass every Sunday. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, board games, her novellas and making delicious Mexican food. There was nothing like Grandma’s frijoles, fideo and tamales!! Above all else, she was loving, forgiving, cherished family, and created a home where everyone felt welcomed and loved.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raul Sr, son Georgie, parents Felipe and Lucia Morales, and her 5 siblings. She is survived by daughters Annie (Emil) Romero, Janie (Vince) Perez, Virginia (Darrell) Hayes, Susana (Carlos) Mariscal, sons Raul Jr (Vanessa) Sandoval, Daniel Sandoval, along with 10 grandchildren: Phillip (Maria) Romero, Tessa (Steve) Bach, Anthony (Bernadette) Romero, Vince (Judy) Perez III, Lawrence (Kimber) Perez, Regina Chamberlain, Sergio (Sonia) Chamberlain, Andrea Hayes, Alyssandra Sandoval, and Lorena Sandoval, 18 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

There will be a Rosary at 10:00 am followed by a Catholic Mass at 10:30 am on Monday, January 15, 2018, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 230 W. Galveston St. Chandler, AZ.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, Az.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Dobson House 1188 N Dobson Rd, Chandler, AZ 85224.
