We are sad to announce the passing of Lucy Loschetter who died on January 15th 2024 in Gilbert, Arizona at the age of 90. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Loschetter-Geusic, her son-in-law Joseph Geusic, son, Richard T. Loschetter of Phoenix, grandchild Jennifer Geusic, sister Jeanette Riedmiller, and nephews, Kurt and John Riedmiller of Illinois. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Christopher Loschetter and parents Ann and Ludwig (Louie) Wilem of Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Lucy was born in Chicago, Illinois in March of 1933. She attended Everett Grammar School and graduated in 1951 from Harrison High School in Chicago. Lucy was a gifted artist and was awarded art scholarships in high school. Her creations were displayed in the cabinets of her grade school for years. She was also a talented dancer, a lover of live music and a theater goer attending hundreds of events in both Chicago and Arizona. Her former spouse of twenty-nine years was army veteran and CPA, Richard F. Loschetter, who authored three computer science books during his tenure at Moraine Valley Community College. They had three children together. Never remarrying, Lucy dedicated time to her parents, her children, her work, and her grandchild. She was employed for ten years at the Cook County Sheriffs Police Department in Maywood, Illinois in the records department retiring in 1997. Previously, she also worked in retail sales and was a homemaker known for her excellent cooking. A treasured accomplishment in her life was connecting a loving couple to adopt two toddler boys who were in need of a safe and nurturing home. Lucy moved to Arizona in 2003 to be near her children and enjoyed the home she had built in the Trilogy Resort Community at Power Ranch in Gilbert up until January 2023. At Trilogy she participated in social activities enjoying poker, bowling and stained glass creation. Lucy was witty and fierce in her convictions attending picket lines, labor union rallies and political events. As a nature lover, Lucy grew beautiful foliage on her property and visited California and Florida beaches with her family. We will miss her beautiful soul, her fun-loving spirit and her worldly wisdom.
