On Tuesday, September 20, 2022 Mario Peter Mazzoli passed away. He was seventy-four. He was born in Gemona del Friuli, Italy to Luigi and Maddalena Mazzoli. He came to the United States at the age of two With his mother father and brother George, and quickly learned how to be an American. He Graduated from Manhattan College as a civil engineer. Mario also proudly served in the Peace Corps stationed in Sierra Leone Africa.

Mario worked for many companies during his career however in 1981 he went to work for Barr & Barr Builders Inc. His primary responsibilities including building, redesigning and renovating Medical facilities throughout New York and New Jersey. He often referred to renovating a hospital as “trying to perform open-heart surgery on a patient who is still walking around”. His last project, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Treatment Center of Commack Long Island, was a project he was most proud of. It was a ground up facility that is, in many ways, a lasting legacy project and memorial to Mario as an industry professional. It stands as his lasting contribution to the industry he was so proud to be a part of. Today it stands as a valuable contribution in service to the Long Island community.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Mazzoli and his stepson Timothy Consolo. Timothy’s wife Kimberly Consolo and their children Olivia and Leo Jack Consolo. And His Sister-in-law Amy Deegan Mazzoli.

He and his wife Carolyn moved to Gold Canyon Arizona in 2005 and quickly became members of the community. Mario worked at the local food bank and became a member of the Desert Rats. A community of seniors that traveled around Arizona marveling at its wonders and learning about its history. Mario was an bird watcher and stamp collector, two interests he pursued with a passion.

Mario was a good and kind Soul. He always had a smile on his face and never had a bad word to say to anyone. He will be missed by his beloved wife Carolyn of 29 years His family and friends.
