Mary Andra Mitchell joined her husband Paul William Mitchell (3-16-1912 – 2-10-2010) on April 1, 2012. Mary was born in Copenhagen, Denmark May 28, 1912. She immigrated to the United States traveling aboard SS Oscar 11 to New York, landing at Ellis Island in August, 1914. Her parents were Marius and Anna Louise Birch Hansen. Mary was the last of seven siblings. She is survived by her daughters Gloria (Harry) Clar, Dora Nickell, Paula (Lester) Gray, grandchildren Robert, Philip Clar, Joanna (Dan) Finkenkeller, Clara (Adam) Higgens, great- grandchildren Madison, Myha, Maverick, Reddick, Tatem and Jared. She is also survived by many loving relatives in Minnesota. Mary’s father Marius dedicated the end of his life working for the Danish underground smuggling Jews out of Denmark. He gave his life helping others escape occupied Denmark. Services will be Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 12:00 noon with visitation starting at 10:00 am at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery. 7900 E. Main Street. Mesa, Arizona.
