Mary Ella Sheats, 88 of Mesa, AZ passed away Saturday August 29, 2015 in Mesa, AZ. Mary was born December 19, 1926 in Grandville, Pennsylvania to Abraham and Arie (Rhiel) Grassmyer and she had three sisters, Lydia Styers, Barbara Grassmyer, Ida Styers. She married George H. Sheats on March 3, 1945 and they were blessed with 53 years together before George passed away July 3, 1998. Mary lived in Pennsylvania, moved to Medina, Ohio then Tulsa, Oklahoma, Angleton, Texas and Mesa Arizona. Mary was a member of Velda Rose United Methodist Church in Mesa, AZ. She is remembered for her crafting and generous giving to friends and family throughout the United States. Mary liked to travel. One summer she and her husband took off on a car trip with the goal to see how many states they could visit. They succeed in visiting almost every state in the continental United States and then she also added Alaska and Hawaii. She had a love for life and her family. Her last words were “I love my girls”

Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85205.
