Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Mary “Holly” Thurman

June 23, 1939 – June 18, 2021

Mary “Holly” Thurman was born in Ohio June 23rd, 1939 to Frank Henry Dewey and Mary Louise Schorr.  Mary was welcomed into heaven the evening of June 18, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Mary passed away at the age of 81 in Mesa, Arizona.  She spent her final months surrounded by her loving family, friends and her cherished pets Molly and Jackpot.

Mary grew up with her four brothers and one sister: Dave, Robin, Phil, Theresa, and Tommy. She is survived by her children: Michele, Theresa, Bernadette, Bridget, Jackie, and Shannon, her twenty grandchildren, and forty-three great grandchildren.

Mary was a hero to all of her family and friends.  Mary loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally.  She was the best mother that anyone could ask for.  She went through all of the hardships in her life with a strength and determination unmatched by anyone. She touched the lives of many.  She was a fighter, a believer, a comforter, a mentor, and to some people she was everything.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Chaboudy, and son, Bret Chaboudy.

God, faith, and family were her most treasured possessions.  It is said that those who touch our lives inspire us and love us.  And they do so for a lifetime.  We will forever celebrate the life of Mary Thurman.  She will always be a part of our lives as she watches over us. She may no longer be by our sides, but we have all gained a guardian angel.
