Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Mary Lou Bush

Passed Away on February 12, 2018

Mary Lou Bush was the youngest of thirteenth children born to Michael and Carmella Aiello (Salerno) in Chicago, IL. She was born on September 19, 1924 and passed away on the morning of February 12, 2018 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 93.  On August 14, 1948, she married James M. Bush who preceded her in death (August 26, 1997).  Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her two daughters Mary and Maurice, six brothers (Joseph, James, Rocco, Carl, Alberto, and Anthony), and five sisters (Angeline, Jennie, Ann, Marie, and Pauline).  She is survived by an older sister, Estelle; her two sons, Stanley (Diane) and James (Traci); six grandchildren Stanley (Jenell), Joseph, Laura, Victoria, Mickale, and Patrick; and one great-grandson, Kohen.

Throughout her life Mary Lou’s devotion to the Lord directed her to many opportunities to give of her time and treasure.  While she lived in Stickney, IL she very actively supported community events like Stickney Family Days, Golden Agers, veteran’s projects, and community elections.  After she moved to Mesa, AZ, she routinely served meals at the St. Vincent de Paul dining room, contributed funds to build Mesa’s St. Peregrine Shrine, and Mother Angelica on The Eternal Word Television Network.  Certainly the highlight of her day was visiting; whether in person or over-the-telephone she enjoyed every moment she spent with family and friends.  During the course of her life, Mary Lou overcame many hardships yet remained full-spirited.

A service will be held on March 10, 2018 at 11 AM, in the Chapel inside the Mausoleum at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.  After the service Mary Lou will be entombed alongside her husband in Crypt 6648 within the mausoleum.  A Remembrance service will be held in Mesa at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  1-877-7CANCER or https://www.damonrunyon.org/donate/donate-in-honor-or-memory.
