Maxine Llamas, a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.
Maxine was born on April 29, 1969, in Silver City, New Mexico, to Manuel and Guadalupe Gonzales. She later made her home in Mesa, Arizona, where she built a life filled with family, love, and memories that will forever be cherished.
Maxine was a devoted mother to her son, Steven (Jamie) Madrid, and her daughter, Stephanie Madrid. Her greatest joys were her three granddaughters, Rachel Madrid, Elliana Madrid, and Cameila Madrid, who will forever carry their grandmother’s love and memories with them.
She was also a loving stepmother to Chalia (Josh) Santillano and Michael Llamas, and a proud step-grandmother to Emma Santillano. Family meant so much to Maxine, and the love she shared with each of them was a special part of her life.
Maxine shared 16 years of marriage with her husband, Ole, building a life and creating memories together that will remain with their family.
She is also survived by her older brother, Manuel Jr., along with many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved father, Manuel Gonzales.
Those who knew Maxine will remember her not simply for the roles she carried as a mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, and sister, but for the person she was—the memories she created, the love she gave, and the place she held in the hearts of the people around her.
Her family will carry her with them in every memory, every story, and every moment that reminds them of her.
Though her time with us has come to an end, the love she gave will never leave us. She will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be a part of her family.
Services will be held on Friday, October 9th at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery (7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207). A viewing will begin at 9:00 am., followed by the funeral services at 10:00 am. The graveside service will take place at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.

My dearest friend! I will forever be grateful for you and all the wonderful memories we shared. I will carry you forever in my heart and will always love you. My deepest condolences to all the family. Maxine was a beautiful soul and will forever be missed.
Maxine’s spirit was encouraging, her gift to her family and friends was to have her love and loyalty.
Throughout her tumultuous journey she remained positive, strong and enthusiastic about the future, about life! and with that she encouraged me “personally” to be stronger, to be more positive, to be a warrior as she was.
Because of her example her spirit will always remain, she has passed down that strength to her family. I will always remember her for how she helped me. I’ll miss our messages and calls of encouragement but I will honor your memory by continuing her positivity and her appreciation for life. Love – Dottie
