Melba Jean Turner Obituary

Melba Jean Turner, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Mesa, AZ. Born in Ozark, Arkansas, our Mom was a simple, elegant woman. A lady through and through! She was reserved in nature; but, her love and devotion for her family ran very deep and was the center of her life. A loving, devoted wife of 69 years, she was our Dad’s best friend and loyal companion. Although she was a very feminine gal and a stylish one at that, she was by her family’s side camping in the woods, riding dirt bikes in the dunes, watching racings at the local dirt track or Nascar at PIR. Not to mention countless hours on the TV. Anything for her boys! A woman before her time, she enjoyed a long and successful career as a Personal Banker with Valley National Bank retiring at the age of 60. She had tremendous personal pride in her character and the things she did. When encountering difficulties, she had a quiet, unwavering strength with not a word of complaint. A very tough act to follow; but, we will try. We loved you Mom and you will forever be in our hearts. Survived by her husband James A Turner, Sr., son James A Turner, Jr., Grandson Beau James Turner, and great grand daughter Natalie Rene Turner. Visitation 9:00 am Tuesday, June 23rd, followed by 10:00 am Funeral Service at Mountain View Funeral Home 7900 E. Main St. Mesa, AZ 85207.
