Mervyn E. “Gene” Beck of Mesa, Arizona died August 16, 2016 at the age of 89. Gene retired from Farm Equipment Sales and Farm Management after 45 years of employment.
Gene served in WWll with the U.S. Transport Service and Merchant Marines. Born in Washington, PA, he lived most of his life in South Florida where he married Sara Altman in 1949. Gene and Sara had five children, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Sara, son David and wife Debbie of Asheville, NC, son Steven and wife Sharon of Boynton Beach, FL, daughter Susan Blair-Smith and husband Kevin of Thermopolis, WY and daughter Tammy Jackson and husband Mark of Mesa, AZ. Gene was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, sister, son Daniel and son-in-law Donald Blair.

Dearest family, I am so sorry to hear Uncle Gene passed away. I just found out yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. He was a great man and a wonderful, beloved uncle. My childhood was greatly enhanced by him and his beautiful wife (my aunt) Sara. I love you all and miss you so much.
