Michael Joseph Smith 35, entered into God’s Kingdom on July 3rd, 2023. He was born December 28th, 1987 to Susan and Bruce Smith.

Michael was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Michael was proceeded in death by his dad Bruce Smith, brother John Smith, maternal grandparents Harold and Iris White.

Upon graduating from Skyline High School, Michael continued his education by getting his associate and bachelor degree at the University of DeVry, which paid off by working for the company Kahala Brands as a lead.

Michael had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation and his laugh was infectious to everyone around him.

Some of Michael’s friends had this to say about him:

“Mike was an amazing person and someone you could always count on to be there when you needed a friend most. He had a heart of gold and a very unique sense of humor.” I have so many great memories of him, but one that always sticks out to me is when we got tricked into doing an acid wash on my dad’s pool and yard work in exchange to watch Wrestle Mania. We spent all weekend doing yard work and pool cleaning for a few hours of entertainment but it is still one of my favorite memories. Mike, I’m so sad you are gone but I know I will see you again in the end. In my life you were a counselor, a band mate, college graduate, gentleman, and scholar but most importantly you were one of my best friends. Rest easy my friend until we see each other again.” Joe

“Mike was a caring, one of a kind friend who was a selfless person and was always helping others. He will truly be missed.” Cody

“I wouldn’t know where to start with Mike, we haven’t had a ton of contact after high school but he was a stand up guy. I’m glad we did get to reconnect recently and catch a movie together. Rest in peace, Mike.” John

“Mike was funny, loving, strategic, dependable, and always shared his life experience and the word of God. Mike was a fine example of a gentlemen. He was always open and faced his vulnerabilities graciously. I believe Mike wanted to be redeemed when really, Mike was already redeemed and it was he who was showing others like myself how to do so as well. Mike would be there for you when it seemed like no one else. He was a bright light that could brighten the darkest days. He could help his friends when they were down stand back up even if he couldn’t stand himself. I will miss my friend dearly and know his spirit will comfort any of us who need it until we are all reunited again.” Dane

“Michael was the kind of human who would give everything for his people. He was so kind and made this world so much better for his friend and family. It would take a million minds to explain what he was worth. He was my brother my best friend a person who was so honorable and dedicated to making others better. I love you I’ll
See you at the gates of Heaven. You are angel” Lego

Susan, I am so very very sorry for your loss and I can’t find the words to express my sorrow for the pain you are feeling at the loss of your wonderful son. He was such a good person and although I didn’t really get a chance to know him that well you spoke of him often and I knew him through the things you told me. I remember how adorable he was as a toddler and how I always said he looked like the My Buddy doll. I know he has been welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven because he was a good and faithful Christian and he will be there, along with his dad, to greet you one day. I love you my friend.
