Michael M. Kern 89, of Apache Junction, Arizona passed peacefully with his immediate family at his side on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Mesa, Arizona. Mr. Kern was born in Los Angeles, California on October 02, 1920. He was a 1st Lt. in the U. S Army and a veteran of WWII. Mr. Kern retired from the City and County of San Francisco (Hetch Hetchy) and was an active member of IBEW Local 6 for 54 years. Mr. Kern was raised in the Dunsmuir, California area was an active member of the VFW and Elks . Michael spent the majority of his retired life visiting family across the United States and traveling with his soul mate and wife Marjory M. Kern and they enjoyed trips to Australia, Scotland, Mexico and Canada among many other places. His favorite pastime was fishing, camping and cruises.

He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Marjory. His brother Erson of Redding, California. He also leaves four sons, Jerry of Palm Coast, Florida, Gregory of Oakdale, California and Gary of San Francisco and Douglas of Mt. Shasta, California. He also leaves behind two daughters, Diane Serino of Lafeyette, Colorado and Susan of San Francisco, California. He has 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons (Michael, David) and a daughter (Michele Barden).

Mr. Kern will later be interned at Mount Shasta Cemetry in the family plot.
