Milenko “Mico” Djukic

February 25, 1948 – July 30, 2021


Milenko “Mico” Djukic was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away on July 30th, 2021 at the age 73.

He was born to Jovan and Joka Djukic on February 25th, 1948 in Bosankso Grahovo in the former Yugoslavia.

As a young man he immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and met his beautiful and caring wife of 50 years, Sava Djukic. Together they had two sons, Dusko and Milan. In the summer of 1977 they moved to Tempe, Arizona to pursue the American dream and owned and operated a motel business for over 20 years.  Following the motel business they ran other small businesses until his retirement.  Through that time they cultivated many strong and cherished relationships.

Mico loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sava, his two sons, Dusko and Milan, his 3 grandchildren, Sanja, Stefan, and Leyna, and his sisters Vesna and Mara.

A viewing is scheduled for 9:00 am with services to follow at 10:00 am on Thursday August 5th, 2021 at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 4436 E McKinley St., Phoenix, AZ 85008. The procession will then proceed to Mountain View Cemetery at 7900 E Main St. Mesa, AZ 85207.  Immediately following burial services the family invites you to join them for a luncheon to celebrate his life at Painted Mountain Golf Resort located at 6210 E McKellips Rd, Mesa AZ 85215.
