Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Naomi Vontella Sicz

September 20, 1940 – July 28, 2023

Ms. Naomi Vontella Sicz departed on July 28, 2023 at the age of 82. She was born September 20, 1940 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Naomi relocated and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where she attended and graduated from Phoenix Union High School.

Vontella was preceded in death by her mother Lurene Frances Greene, father Marvin Greene, brother Clarence, sisters Dorothy, Norma Jean and Melba.
She is survived by her sister Verena; sons Shawn, Kevin and Chris; daughter Liesl; and also 7 grandsons; Nicholas, Anthony, Brandon, Cayden, Deegan, Pierce and Leland.

Vontella was a devoted and loving sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She found her happiness in life by giving and caring for others, time spent talking on the phone, making flower arrangements and spending time with those in the LDS church.

She enjoyed baking, sewing anything her kids or grandkids put a hole in, and she was the queen at getting stains out of our clothes. She was our Miracle Mom.

Though she was living with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, she battled long term Covid since November of last year, disabling her to walk and becoming very weak. She would have been 83 in September.

Service will be held at 9am Friday, August 18, at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E Main St, Mesa AZ 85207.

To commemorate the life my mom lived and to share the stories and favorite memories, we will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. (to be announced)

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Go Fund Me account to help purchase blankets my mom would give to those in need. In our family, we call them “Grandma Blankets”. Please use link below.
