Linville Douglas Williams, better known as Lindy or L.D., was born to Frank and Roxie Lou Williams on March 2,1930. Lindy grew up on a family farm in Loving, NM with six brothers and five sisters. His carrot top hair earned him the nickname, “Red”.

Lindy married Shirley Ann Peterson. They had two children, Mark and Roxanna, five grandchildren, Shelly, Travis, Justin, James, and Rebecca; and nine great-grandchildren. Later in life, L.D. married Beverly Ann Preston, she had four children, Mikel, Melissa, Michelle, and Andrea, with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lindy learned how to work hard but also how to work smart. Farming was in his blood, along with oil and gas exploration. In 1975, Lindy moved to Mesa, AZ and started a mobile home sales business. Lindy never met a stranger and he was loved by all who met him. After many years of success, he retired and spent summers in Eagle Nest, NM where he met and married Beverly. He enjoyed the casinos, watching football, playing golf, and sitting on the patio smoking his pipe. He is well known for wearing his Levi pants, boots, and a white cowboy hat.

He will be greatly missed, but the memories of his smile and bushy eyebrows will be with us always.

Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (7900 E. Main Street, Mesa AZ 85207) on Saturday October 25, 2025, starting at 1:30 pm with the burial at 3:00 p.m.
