Peggy Jean “Peg” Womack
Peg Womack, age 87 formerly from Moline, died May 11, 2023 in Apache Junction, Arizona. The burial will be private at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendship Manor in Rock Island, Illinois.

Peg was born in Rock Island on September 3, 1935 to Dorothy and John Willhite. She married Lee Allen Womack on November 26, 1959 at St. Ambrose Church, Milan, Illinois.
Peg graduated from Alleman High School in 1953. She was a reservation agent for Northwest Airlines in Chicago. Later, she was a bookkeeper for the Lee Womack Insurance Agency, and then a homemaker. Upon Lee’s death in 2002, Peg sold the agency and retired.
In earlier years, Peg volunteered at her sons’ schools. She was a member of Edith Hans King’s Daughters Circle, Board of Trustees of Friendship Manor, In His Name Service League of Friendship Manor, KD Illinois Brunch, 20th Century Women’s Club, Rock Island County Republican Women, Trinity Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society and Bible Faith-Sharing Group, and volunteered at St. Mary Moline’s food pantry. Peg loved bowling, golfing, playing cards, and traveling. Most of all she loved her family and friends.
Survivors (and spouses) are her sons, Scott Allen (Caroline) Womack of Palatine, IL and Apache Junction, AZ, and Steven Allen Womack of Bakersfield, CA; grandsons Benjamin Spencer and Ryan Samuel; brother Berkley John Willhite of Moline; sister-in-law Kathie Womack of Moline; plus many nieces and nephews. Peg was preceded in death by her husband Lee, parents, and grandparents.
