Richard “Dick” Alan Robertson, 85, passed away peacefully in his home on March 3, 2021 in Tempe, Arizona. Dick was born on June 16, 1935 in Bladen, Nebraska to Paul and Hazel Robertson. As a child, his family moved to Idaho where Dick met the love of his life, Emma Jean Hansen. They married October 21, 1955 and had four children. He was a salesman which allowed the family to live in several states before settling in Mesa, Arizona.

During their life together, Dick and Emma Jean were able to travel the world and have experiences they never dreamed possible. Dick enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, playing cribbage, pitch and pinochle, watching baseball and boxing, and working crossword puzzles, along with spending summer vacations playing hide and seek with every member of his family. Emma Jean, his kids, and his grandkids were his life.

Dick is survived by his children: Joni (Mike) Corbin, Jeff (Kamn) Robertson, and Juli (Don) Shreeves; 11 grandchildren, and a slew (23) great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean; son, Jay Robertson; parents, Paul and Hazel; brother, Loran Robertson; and great-granddaughter, Cienna Corbin.

If you don’t know what a slew is, “GO GET THE DICTIONARY!” (per Dick)

A service honoring Dick’s life is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery. 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona.
