Richard E. Bye known to family and friends as Dick Bye, passed away and returned to God on Easter Sunday April 5, 2015 at the age of 85. Dick had been married to his loving wife Darlene Louise for 63 wonderful years before his passing in his Mesa, AZ home. He will be greatly missed by his wife Louise, children Debbie (David) Roller, Richard (Glenda) Bye and 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a multitude of extended family and friends. He was born in Minneapolis, MN July 10, 1929. Dick served in the Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Alaska. His work before and after his military service was as a banker, which he loved and retired from Valley National Bank at the early age of 55. He spent his retirement volunteering and supporting his local church as well as being an active member of the Lions Club. Dick’s favorite pastime was working with his hands building and constructing anything from small toys for his kids and grand kids to an entire home in Overgaard. Our family has lost a gracious and compassionate man that lived by example and showed us all that loving one another is what is most important. Until we meet again, we love and miss you!

Viewing will be Thursday April 9, 2015 at 1:00 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E Main St. in Mesa with the funeral at 2:00. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ponderosa Lions Club in Heber/Overgaard or Shepherd of the Pines United Methodist Church of Overgaard AZ.
