Richard J. (Dick) Crockett, born August 4, 1937 in Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday February 15, 2012. Dick graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1960, later earning the designation of Professional Engineer. Dick began his engineering career with G.E./Honeywell in 1960 and later moved his family from Syracuse, NY to Phoenix, AZ in 1969. Dick spent the last 21 years of his career with Boeing and was instrumental in the developing Avionics for the Apache helicopter. An avid golfer, Dick had the opportunity to travel to Scotland to play the old course at St Andrews where he shot a 76 back to back. Dick was preceded in death by his daughter Cathleen M. Schimmoller. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Diane, sister Regina Malizia of Wilmington, DE, sons Richard A. Crockett (Carolyn) of Las Vegas, NV, Robert C. Crockett of Canyon Country, CA, James J. of Phoenix, AZ, grandson Adam of Las Vegas and Curtis Schimmoller of Queen Creek and niece Susan Malizia of Wilmington, DE. Dick will be dearly missed by his friends Terry, Jim, Brian and Mark from the “Dog Park” at Alta Mesa. Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday February 24, 2012 at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E.
