Rita Plenys, 62, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Saulius Plenys; her four children: Monica Roose, Mark Plenys, Lydia Plenys, Luke Plenys; her five grandchildren: Colin Roose, Keller Roose, Adalyn Rosales, Aubrianna Plenys, Anthony Plenys; her two sisters Donna Juraitis, Irene Juraitis and many close friends.

Rita was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and is the daughter of Leonas and Anne Marie (Paukstîs) Juraitis. Rita lived in Chicago until 1998 before moving to Gilbert, Arizona with her family. Directly after graduating high school at Maria High School in 1980, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree of business administration with a major in accounting from Saint Xavier College in 1987.

Rita took great pride in raising her family. She made it a priority to instill family and ethnic traditions for her children to be able to pass to their children. Rita enjoyed volunteering and substitute teaching while her children were in elementary school. She made sure to attend her kids’ school and extracurricular activities as they got older. She loved being a mom and was even more blessed when she got to become a grandmother.

Rita held her friendships close to her heart. She treated her friends like family and supported their kids like they were her own. Rita impacted everyone who got the pleasure to meet her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visiting hours at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery are at 1PM on Saturday, the 7th of June. The service will be held at 2PM, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Her service is being livestreamed and recorded by Legacy Live Streaming, just click here to watch the service!
