Robert “Bob” Wheat, 88, of Mesa, AZ passed away December 7, 2012. Bob was born on June 2, 1924 in Prophetstown, IL. He moved to Arizona in 1962. Attended AZ State University and became a teacher in the Scottsdale School District.Bob was a WWII Navy Vet. He also was a member of the AZ State Rifle and Pistol Assoc., Life member of the Rio Salado Gun Range, and National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, sisters-in-law, Sandra Randolph and Barbara Mier; brothers-in-law, David (Mary Ruth) Mier, and Donald (Marilyn) Mier. Services will be December 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm with viewing from 1-2:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ (480-832-2850).
