Robert Bruce Barnes, 68, was laid to rest in God’s loving care on October 21, 2013 near his parent’s graves in Mesa, Arizona. He suffered a stroke and passed on September 29, 2013 while on vacation; private graveside services were attended only by his immediate family.
Bob’s professional career highlights can be viewed on LinkedIn as well as well as several other sites. His passion has always been aviation and he held a degree in Aerospace Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology. He received numerous awards throughout his career and was asked to speak at many conferences on various subjects around the world. He enjoyed travel among other hobbies over the years.
Bob was a Captain in the USAF where he was an Instructor Pilot for the T-38. After his Air Force service, Bob had a career at Polaroid in Massachusetts, and later was a Vice President of Marketing at a laser card technology company in Northern California. He was a true entrepreneur and started his own independent consulting company more than 20 years ago. Bob quickly became very skilled at anything he chose to do in life.
Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois, and his sons Mike and Mark. Services were conducted by Pastor Rowdy Van Horn who paid tribute in a Celebration of Life to Bob’s many talents and achievements during his lifetime. Bob will be missed greatly by his family and many friends worldwide.
I’m so sorry to read this news, Lois. I’ll always remember our friendship and the coaching that Bob has provided me throughout my career. Bob and our lunch meetings will truly be missed.
Sincerely,
Bernie Frist
