Robert F. Mendoza Sr. passed away peacefully at the Tucson Veterans Hospital with his family at his side on December 26, 2011. He was 82 years of age. Robert Mendoza was born in Hayden, Arizona on June 26, 1929 to Frank and Margarita Mendoza; he was the eldest of five children. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in 1949 and received his military training at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey as a Signal Corp Radio repairman. He served in Panama with company “A” in the 45th Recon and the 7th Armed Division; he separated with an Honorable discharge. Robert was married to Rebecca Bailon on March 26, 1954 and has resided in Coolidge, Arizona since 1958. He was self-employed as owner/operator of Modern Music Service through which he provided Pinal County residences a wide variety of entertainment options that included Jukeboxes, pool tables and video games. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and brother. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, his sister Doris and his family of three sons and two daughters: Miguel, Robert, Samuel, Cynthia, and Margarita. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona on December 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
