Robert J. Spies Sr., 84, died peacefully at home following a long, brave battle with cancer on Feb 7, 2013. He was born Jan 20, 1929 in Cleveland, OH to August & Margaret Spies. He served in the US Army and worked as a carpenter, home-builder and construction superintendent for many years. He married Mary Ann Trivisonno of Wickliffe, OH and together, raised 6 children. He belonged to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish, Knights of Columbus and the Mt. Carmel players. Bob & Mary Ann moved their family to Mesa, AZ in 1977. Over the years, he remained busy with many projects and a passion for computers, sports, golf, travel, photography and geneology. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lorita Frank. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, children Karen, Robert Jr., Kathryn, Michael, Mary Jo and David, those he considered his own (Dan, Diane, Scott & Mary Pat), 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Our lives will be forever changed. He will be greatly missed by his entire family, friends & neighbors. Services will be Thursday 2/14/13 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1551 E. Dana Ave., Mesa, AZ; internment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ.
