Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Roberto Mike Rivas

July 11, 1974 – December 27, 2020

Roberto Mike Rivas was born July 11, 1974 in Lorain, Ohio to Carlos and Rafaela Rivas. From a young age Rob was always curious. He loved tinkering with electronics, taking them apart to learn how they worked, then attempting to put them back together.

After growing up in Baytown, Texas, the family moved to Birmingham, Alabama where Rob spent his high school years. While attending Huffman High School, he participated in orchestra as well as ROTC, which led him into his Army career, post high school.

In the Army, Rob took his interest of computers and electronics and completed telecommunications training. He spent time overseas stationed in South Korea and rose to the rank of Specialist before leaving the service. He began his civilian career as an Engineer in the Telecommunications field in the greater Houston area. In 2005, Rob’s career path brought him to the greater Phoenix area.

In his spare time, he loved to travel and go on family vacations. A frequent visitor to the Disney parks with his children, he also enjoyed taking cruises and spending time on or near the water, going to movies, attending live sporting events and concerts, and being an all-around goofball.

Rob was called to rest on December 27, 2020. He lives on in the hearts of his children: Dante Rivas, Samantha Rivas, and Gabriel Rivas; stepchildren: Tylor Hawkins, Zackery Hawkins, and Gregery Hawkins; parents: Carlos E Rivas Sr and Rafaela Rivas; siblings: Elena Wooster (Joseph), Carlos Rivas Jr (Heather); honorary big sister (Aunt) Pollyanna Rosario; and nephews: Brendan and Landen Wooster.
