Robin Marie Henry, 60, entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, July 18, 2019, in her home in Mesa, Arizona.

Robin was born October 25, 1958 in St. Clair City, Michigan to Dean and Alice Bentley. She married Steve Henry on May 19, 1979. God blessed her with two wonderful children that she adored. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren.

Robin graduated from Purdue University in 2002 with the degree of Associate of Science and she became a Registered Nurse. Prior to becoming an RN she was a kindergarten teacher and when her own children became school age she homeschooled them both. Robin’s nursing career was varied having served as a med-surg nurse, hospice nurse, school nurse and she operated a small clinic in a village in northeastern Mexico where she and her husband served as missionaries for 7 years.

She enjoyed DIY projects, doing things with her hands, organizing and cleaning her home, and in general she enjoyed staying active. In later years she enjoyed making pottery. But beyond the work and the projects that occupied her time, her commitment to serving her Savior, Jesus Christ, was primary. At the age of 8, God in his sovereign grace called her through the ministry of a Backyard Bible Club and she believed the gospel that Christ died, was buried and rose again from the grave and by faith trusted him as her Lord and Savior. Her commitment to Christ was often seen through her sacrificial service to her family.

Robin is survived by her husband of 40 years, Steve of Mesa, her daughter, Lindsay Silveus (Steve) of Destin, Florida, her son, Steven Henry Jr. (Danica) of Las Vegas Nevada, her 3 grandchildren, Miriam, Elliot, and Benjamin, and her sisters, Deana Houlihan of Show Low, Arizona and Kim Bentley of Macomb, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gary Bentley, and her sister, Debbie Vradenburgh.

Her four-year battle with cholangiocarcinoma, the rather rare form of cancer that ultimately took her life, served to reveal the determined and organized way she approached all of life, but it also illustrated her faith-filled attitude of ultimately trusting God’s sovereign plan for her life. On several occasions she gave testimony that she was glad God allowed her to have this cancer because it taught her things about God that she never would have understood or appreciated. She also testified that it gave her a platform to point people to Christ that she otherwise would never have had.

A time of worship to celebrate what God did in and through Robin’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 am at Redemption Gateway Church, 8635 E. Pecos Road, Mesa. The family will receive guests preceding the service from 9:00 until 10:00.
