Roger Sevigny took his final flight on October 10, 2025, departing from Mesa, Arizona, on a journey to be reunited with his loved ones. Born in Dover, Delaware, on April 23, 1965, to Gerald and Lois (Bjornson) Sevigny, Roger’s life was one defined by movement, travel, and human connection.
From his early days as an Army brat to a distinguished 28-year career with Continental Airlines, a love for travel was at the core of who he was. His career was more than a job; it was a passion that took him to hubs in Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Phoenix. He thrived in the bustling world of airports, sharing his kind spirit with colleagues and passengers alike. He retired early due to health reasons, but his fascination with all things airline-related never faded.
Even before his professional life began, his adventurous heart was evident. He grew up loving hockey in Grafton, North Dakota, his favorite team being UND Fighting Sioux. At the age of 10, he embarked on a memorable voyage aboard the USS Ranger. After moving to Lacey, Washington, he excelled in football at Timberline High School, graduating in 1983 before pursuing degrees from Knapp Business College and the International Air Academy, which launched him into the skies.
Above all, Roger valued his connections on the ground. He was a cherished brother, a fun-loving uncle, and a doting “dad” to his beloved dogs. His warmth and easy-going nature meant he collected friends as easily as he collected travel memories.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his brother, Dean (April) Sevigny; his sisters, Mary Sevigny and Denise (Scott) Woinarowicz; and a cherished group of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Lois, and his sister, Catherine Ann.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roger’s journey on November 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Red Mountain Park (Hawk Pavilion), 7745 E. Brown Rd., Mesa, AZ 85207.
