Rosa Ortega Navarrette, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 14, 2026, at her home in Mesa, Arizona.

Rosa was born on April 25, 1938 to Celestina Peña Ortega and Jesus Ortega in Ojinaga, Chihuahua. She grew up with 17 brothers and sisters surrounded by family, love, and hard work. Those early years shaped her generosity, love, and resilience carried throughout her fruitful life. At a young age, Rosa met and fell in love with her soulmate, Santos Navarrette, Sr. They married on April 24, 1957 and traveled through Southern Texas and ultimately made Arizona their home. Rosa built a life centered on service, hard work, and deep love for her family and friends.

Rosa is survived by her husband, Santos, her children (Gloria, Juan, Martha, Santos Jr., and Irma, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Her legacy of kindness and devotion to her faith in God will continue in the lives of all who loved her.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, May 29, 20326 at Redeemer Apostolic Church and burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
