Ruby Hovden, 92, of Mesa, AZ passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Mesa. Ruby was born to Jack and Opal Bray in Davis City, IA on July 22, 1920. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she married George Hovden on December 30, 1945. Ruby worked at the Hotel Tallcorn and at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown, IA; she retired from Fisher Controls in 1986. Ruby and George moved to Mesa in 1990 where they enjoyed sunshine, warm weather and the love of wonderful friends. Survivors include her son Jack (Mary) Hovden of Urbandale, IA; grandchildren Heidi Chatham (Chad) of Ankeny, IA and Jodi Oliver of Savannah, MO and 6 great-grandchildren; nephew Ron Hovden of Redondo Beach, CA; sisters-in law Lil Thomas and Nelda Beard; brothers in-law Joel Hovden and Earle Hovden and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Faith Church of Mesa, 7460 E. Knowles Ave., Mesa, AZ 85209. Arrangements have been made by Mountain View Funeral Home. Committal will be at Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, IA at a future date.
