Ruby went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of February 6, 2011. She was born Ruby Jewell Mooney December 2, 1929 in Ellijay, Georgia. She was the daughter of Sally and George Mooney and was one of thirteen children. Ruby lived in Ellijay until 1947 when she decided to travel by bus to Ohio to visit her sister. On that trip, she met Elmer Clark and they were married soon after. Many of their friends and family thought it wouldn’t last due to the brevity of their courtship. But theirs was a good match and they stayed best friends and partners for the rest of her life. The young couple settled in Barberton, Ohio where they raised a family that included three sons and two daughters. She and Elmer moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1989. Ruby preferred to be called Jewell and was a devoted and loving wife and mother of five, grandmother of ten and great grandmother of three. She was also beloved by nieces, nephews and all who knew her. She was incredibly kind, a good listener, and a fantastic cook. Jewell is survived by her husband Elmer Clark, children Robert Clark (Cheryl), David Clark (Sharon), Jerry Clark (Diane), daughters Linda Dalinberg and Betty Miller (Dan). Visitation 5 – 7pm, Friday, February 11, 2011 at Mountain View Funeral Home 7900 E. Main St. Mesa, AZ (480) 832-2850 followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Saturday, February 12, 2011
