A wonderful lady, a dedicated wife and mother, a true lover of softball, Ruthie will be missed by many. She was a pleasure to be around and always had a kind word. SHE WILL HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN HEAVEN! Rest in peace dear lady, and strike em out.
ruth was like a sister to m,e, she was with me in icu when I had my stroke. she was always willing to help where ever she could, she was always a laady and I loved her very much. I love her family also which is just as womderful as ruth was, love you all prayers Sharon moore
Aunt Ruth welcomed me into the Shreve family in 1974! Seems like yesterday. I married her nephew Mike. I flew down to Arizona to meet Mike on leave. Aunt Ruth full of hospitality, welcomed me to stay at her and Uncle Normans home. Within a few days I was married into the family. Aunt Ruth took a photo of Mike and me in front of their home in Gilbert. It is the only picture of us on the day we decided to get married. How thoughtful of Aunt Ruth to send us that photo. We were coffee drinkers, Mike and I. And smokers! Such taboo’s we had then. Aunt Ruth told us we were always welcomed to come and visit and the coffee was always on! We always felt at home with A.Ruth and U. Norman. A. Ruth made me feel right at home with my new family. I loved our conversations, over coffee! I loved her art work. I had admired a particular painting. She surprised me with it on my birthday. I still have it. It is hanging in my daughters dinning area now. It is a family heirloom to her as well. A.Ruth and I shared Pennsylvania as our place of birth. And that just said we were family from the start. I admired her love for softball. She seemed to do just everything and do it well. We moved to Washington after three years in Mesa. When we would come to visit we always made sure went to A.Ruth and U. Norman’s. And the coffee, yes was still on!
My last visit with A. Ruth was three years ago in June. So grateful Mike was able to squeeze in a visit this past March. We will miss our Aunt Ruth. Our visits to Arizona will not be the same. The Lord brings into our lives people who make a difference in our life. Thank you Aunt Ruth for being there for me . So glad I her how I appreciated her on my last visit.
May the God of all comfort and peace be with the family in the days and weeks to come.
Hugs Melissa
