Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Salvatore Muscarello

October 26, 1950 – January 5, 2021

Salvatore Muscarello, 70, passed away January 5th, 2021. Sal was born on October 26th, 1950 in Altavilla Milicia, Sicily, to Vincenzo & Francesca (Giovenco) Muscarello. Salvatore leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 38 years, Giovanna (Di Bella) Muscarello; their children: Francesca (husband, Larry) Cheney, Vincenzo Muscarello (partner, Janine Jardot), daughter: Daniella (husband, Steven) Hauptmann; grandsons: Aiden and Brice; and granddaughters: Regina, Melania, Paris, and Ireland. Salvatore was the youngest of 6 siblings: Franca (husband, Paolo) preceded him in death; Paolina (husband Sam), Loreto (wife Mariella), Maria, and Lena (husband Gino) survive him, 15 nieces and nephews, and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

Sal grew up in Sicily until the age of 16 when he followed his older sisters to America with the promise of a better life. He settled in Chicago for nearly 10 years before moving to Arizona in the late 1970’s which became his permanent home. A family friend would set him up to meet the love of his life at a little Italian restaurant called Cosmo’s in Higley, Arizona. Within 3 weeks he was engaged and married later the same year. He worked hard all of his life to learn multiple trades. His passion and skills led him to be a successful auto mechanic for most of his life, owning multiple auto repair shops. After he retired from the auto industry he spent twelve years as a chef at Cosmo’s Italian Restaurant to spend more time with his family.

Sal enjoyed many things in life. He was talented gardener, wine and olive maker, loved to cook, play cards, he enjoyed traveling with his family, and spending time at the beach. He had a great love for animals, raising many dogs over his lifetime.
