Sam Little (R) peacefully passed away and joined his first wife Catherine Tsosie Little on January 3, 2018. His date of birth is recorded as December 31, 1920 in Coconino County, north of the old Cow Springs Trading Post. Sam’s love of his family, his faith, his value of education, and dedication to his service in the military will live in perpetuity with those who were touched by his life. Sam is survived by his second wife Ada Little, his son Dr. Dennis Little, daughter Mary Ann Bear, grandchildren David Little, Dana Palmer, Tahlia Bear, Meredith Lam, Desiree Firle, Mariah Little, and Miriam Chun, and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 11th, 2018 with a viewing one hour prior at the Papago Ward of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints on the Salt River Reservation, 1816 North Extension Road in Scottsdale, Arizona followed by burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, in Phoenix, Arizona.
I will always remember him as “Bishop Little.” His humble attitude impressed me so much that he influenced me to help others as he did. Condolence to family and I will never forget him.
