Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Scott Addington Kilgore

December 11, 1963 – April 23, 2022

Scott Addington Kilgore was born on December 11, 1963 in Ridgecrest, California to Joseph and Sue Kilgore.  He spent his first few years playing on the grounds of their family airport.  They moved to Arizona when Scott was 4 years old and lived in Mesa, Arizona.

After graduating from Mesa High School, Scott moved to New York for a several years before joining the Air Force.  He spent 4 years in the Air Force, while also earning his bachelors degree from ASU, before moving back to Arizona.  He worked for several fiber companies in the Valley and was well respected in his field.  He was recently with Black Box Network Services and located at the Chandler Intel location.

Scott was a martial artist and had belts in several disciplines.  He competed for many years and held seven National and three World titles.  He was also very involved in his younger children’s passions.  Scott joined his youngest daughter on stage in several ballet productions and coached his youngest son’s little league and travel baseball teams.

Scott is preceded in death by his father Joseph, his brother Craig and his grandparents.  He is survived by his wife, Stephanie, children Kaylyn Kilgore, Logan (Angelica) Harrison, Rhiannon Kilgore and Aidan Kilgore, mother, Sue Kilgore, granddaughter Alazai Harrison, uncle Pete (Chris) Dallas, and many friends.  Scott never met a stranger – just a friend he hadn’t made yet.  He also could not go anywhere without seeing someone he knew.  A phenomenon he called “the Kilgore effect”.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 7th, 2022.  Visitation will begin at 12:30pm and the service will be at 1:00pm.  Services will be at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery at 7900 E Main St, Mesa.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in Scott’s name, to Arizona Youth Ballet or Skyline Little League in Mesa.  These are two nonprofit organizations Scott was very involved with and believes in their missions.

Scott, you where a great friend and mentor. I recall being so mad at you for leaving the coffee pot on at ACS again. Only to find out you had unplugged it just to mess with me. All those little jokes and laughs we shared through the years. You smile and laughs d generosity will for ever be remembered. Miss you my friend

One of the great ones. Scott was one of the greatest friends I ever had. I loved bantering back & forth at baseball games with Scott. He would be on the fence taking pictures, I would yell down in front & without looking back at me….ok shawna with a laugh. I adore the entire Kilgore family, but Scott & I just had a special friendship. It’s true…Scott never met a stranger. RIP my dear friend. Your presence will be very missed.
