It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sebert “Gene” Armsby, our beloved father, who left this world on 12-21-2023. He was 86 years old. Sebert was born on 7-18-1937 in Supply, Arkansas to Alvie & Effie Armsby. He grew up in Missouri and lived a life marked by love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family. A devoted husband, Sebert married Ruth Ann Skinner on April 6th, 1959, and together they built a life full of joy and cherished moments. Ruth was the love of his life, and their bond was a source of inspiration for all who knew them. Sebert leaves behind his companion of 4 years, his dog Benji.

As a father, Sebert leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom that will continue to inspire and guide his children, Sheila (John), Debbie (John), Joni, Kelli (David), Jeff (Carrie), Kathy (deceased). His values, work ethic, and kindness will forever be etched in their hearts. Professionally, Sebert enjoyed a successful career in Construction and building houses. His dedication and hard work earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He will be remembered for his integrity, and the positive impact he made on those around him. In his leisure time, Sebert pursued his passions, which included fishing, camping, building bird houses, and long rides up on the Mogollon Rim. Whether it was spending time with family or exploring new places, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Sebert is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his daughter Kathy, Granddaughter Jennifer and Grandson Johnny. Sebert has 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He is also remembered by extended family, and a host of friends who will miss his warmth and humor. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical team at Mt. Vista Medical Center in Mesa and Choice Hospice, friends, and family who supported Sebert during his illness. May Sebert’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may the memories of his love and laughter provide solace to those who mourn his passing.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
