Shelli D. Vance

June 17, 1955 – April 21, 2022


Shelli (Dishman) Vance, 66, passed away April 21st, 2022, in Mesa, Arizona.  Shelli was born June 17th, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio to Richard and Betty (Baker) Dishman.

Shelli lived in the Dayton area until April 1999 when she moved to Mesa, Arizona with her husband, Walter Vance, who had accepted a new job there.

Shelli attended Colonel White High School in Dayton, Ohio graduating early in 1973.  She also attended college classes at Sinclair Community College in Dayton where she became interested in Law Enforcement.

Shelli worked at numerous Ohio police departments as a police officer, to include Madison Township Police Department and Mad River Township Police Department which later became the City of Riverside.  Shelli retired in January 1999 from the Riverside Police Department due to injuries sustained on the job.

Shelli loved her Rottweilers, Major, Dexter, Keri, and Roc as well as her Morkie, Maizee.  She loved collecting Strawberry items which she decorated her kitchen with.  Shelli enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers as well as unicorns.  Shelli also loved having her house decorated for Halloween and Christmas each year.

Shelli was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Betty Dishman, parents-in-law, Walter and Molly Jo (Henderson) Vance, and her nephew, Tyler Johnston.

Shelli is survived by her husband Walter Todd Vance, sister Andi (Joe) Johnston, brother Prent Dishman, sisters-in-law Linda (Ernie) Beaumont, and Sheri (Frank) Collins, brother-in-law Scott (Gina) Vance, nephew Lee (Ryan) Collins, niece Mindy (Mike) Krohn, several aunts, uncles, cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces. She is also survived by her beloved Morkie, Maizee.

Services will be on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, with visitation at 12:00 PM and services at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona.

The Family request that instead of flowers please donate to the Arizona Humane Society at https://www.azhumane.org/ to honor Shelli’s love of her dogs.
