Shirley Hall

Passed Away on July 22, 2020

Shirley Hall passed away from complications of COVID on July 22, 2020 in Mesa, Arizona.

Shirley was born April 12,1941 in Apollo, Pa and moved to Jefferson, Ohio at a young age. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1959 and was blessed to fall in love and marry her prom date. They settled in Elyria, Ohio where they worked and raised their family.

Shirley is survived by husband of 60 years Raymond Hall; son Duane (Amy) Hall; siblings Carol (Robert) Van Slyke, Faye (Marion) Burch, June (Dolphus) Maynard, and Barbara Hale; beloved grandchildren, Shaunna (Travis) Haley, Adam (Lindsey) Sukey, and Lauren Hall; and cherished great grandchildren, Ashton Sukey, Olivia and Benjamin Haley.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy (nee Kline) Zinn; brother James Jr; and her daughter Debbie.

Shirley worked for many years at Center Ridge lanes in North Ridgeville, Ohio operating one of the first computerized scoring systems (the computer was the size of a desk!). Raymond and Shirley retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1988 and she embarked on her next 25-year career working for Cardinal State Heating and Air Conditioning as an office clerk.

She was an avid bowler and involved with the administration of multiple bowling leagues. She was passionate about crafts and possessed a true gift for counted cross stitch. She loved the Arizona Diamondbacks and was beyond excited when they beat the Yankees to win the 2011 World Series!

Per Shirley’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Multiplesystematrophy.org as Shirley valiantly battled this disease over the past two years.
