Socorro M. McMillan Obituary

Socorro M. McMillan was born June 26, 1925 in Sonora, Arizona. She passed away January 7, 2016 in Apache Junction, Arizona.  She is survived by her son Rubin McMillan Jr, and his wife Jennie McMillan.   Son John McMillan, and his fiancé Carolyn Encinas.  Two brothers, Paul (Amelia) Rodriguez and Ernie (Marcela) Santos.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tyler, Ian, Kaytlin, Elicia, Savannah, and Sarah.  She was preceded in death by her husband Rubin McMillan Sr, and two brothers, Felix Ramirez and John Ramirez.

Socorro was a very loving, caring, wonderful strong woman, who cherished her family. Especially her sons and grandchildren. She was very proud of her heritage, and that she was born in Sonora, Arizona. She would often reminisce about her upbringing and the wonderful life she had there.  She met her husband and was married there as well.  Later, they moved to Kearny Arizona where they raised their two sons.  While living in Kearny she was very involved with Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church.  She sang in the choir, taught at the Arts and Crafts program the church held each summer, participated in their prayer group, and was part of the Altar Society.  Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, cooking and keeping the spirit and history of Sonora alive.  Later after her husband passed away, she moved to Apache Junction to be closer to her sons and their families.
