Steven Edward Duncan, 86, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Born on October 7, 1938, in Beach Grove, Indiana, Steve lived a life marked by service, connection, and an unwavering warmth that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Steve proudly served his country as a Radioman in the United States Navy. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of duty and discipline that carried through every chapter of his life.  Following his military service, Steve dedicated most of his professional life to the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. Through rain or shine, he delivered more than just mail—he brought smiles and conversation to every doorstep along his route.  Steve had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people. He never met a stranger; within moments of meeting someone new, he would know their name and birthday—and he never forgot them. His genuine interest in others and remarkable memory made him beloved by many and unforgettable to all who crossed his path.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Hope, who stood beside him through decades of shared memories and love. Steve was predeceased by his parents and his brother.  A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Steve’s life and legacy.  May the memory of Steven Edward Duncan bring comfort to those who knew him and joy to those who remember his smile and stories.

A Graveside Service will be held on September 26, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207.

I met my half brother Stephen late in our lives and we both wished we had many more years to enjoy being siblings. I would have loved having an older brother as a child and he said he always wanted a sister. He will be missed!
