Twyla “Fern” (Cole) Sparks, age 102, of Globe, Arizona made her transition into heaven on December 13, 2015. She was born December 21, 1913 in Gravity, Iowa.

She was the 5th of 10 children.  She is preceded in death by her parents, many siblings, her husband of 68 years, Clifford Sparks of Mesa and her son in law Wayne Kolinek of Globe.

Twyla is survived by her brother Gerald Cole and sister Geraldine Strong (Twins), her daughter Janet Kolinek, three grandchildren: Steven Kolinek, David Kolinek, and Twyla (Jay) Gray; 9 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.  Everyone who knew Twyla called her “The Lady with the Big Hat”, as before her ailing health she walked every morning at her residence in Mesa East.  Twyla’s love of crocheting has graced us all with forever memories.

She was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be missed.  Services will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 21, 2015 at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E Main St Mesa, AZ.
